Candise discovered acupuncture and herbal medicine in the midst of her own healing crisis. Having struggled for years with anxiety, insomnia, as well as various chronic aches and pains, she was more than willing to join in when a dear friend invited her along to try acupuncture. It only took one session for her to decide it was a worthwhile commitment. She returned week after week, feeling increasingly better with each treatment.
The following year, she enrolled in acupuncture school, herself, and graduated in 2015 with a Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2016, Candise became a state-licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. She currently practices both in San Francisco and in the East Bay and connects deeply with her patients. As a trauma-informed acupuncturist, Candise is strongly invested in creating safe spaces and bases the core of her care on the values of non-judgment, compassion, and gentle inquiry.
Candise is also very passionate about working with patients who struggle with complex, multi-system, chronic issues. From digestive problems to on-going, year-round allergies, and mysterious aches and pains, Candise enjoys investigating and getting to the root of such layered and long-standing issues to provide her patients with enduring relief. She also firmly believes in empowering her patients with information and knowledge, so they may engage in self-care outside of treatments.
When she isn’t treating patients, Candise can be found reading, stretching, journaling, hiking, exploring new coffee shops, and making a variety of fermented pickles, krauts, and kimchi.
